Overall Thoughts:

Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are so perfectly cast as Jen and Judy, two very flawed yet different women. They are both trying desperately to get their lives back on track after devastating events, and they slowly realize they need each other for emotional support, ethical guidance, and drinking companionship.

What Makes This Show Special:

Applegate and Cardellini work so well together, and it seems as if the characters were written specifically for them. Applegate plays Jen Harding, a cynical, foul-mouthed mother of two who has given up on being dealt a fair hand after her husband's death. Cardellini plays an optimistic, loving caretaker who has also been struck with unfortunate circumstances. I enjoyed watching Dead To Me, primarily because both Jen and Judy are textured and genuine.

Beware Of:

Some of the Dead To Me characters may be introduced simply to forward the story, or rather curve the story. But they are enjoyable to watch, including a loud neighbor who may have been molded from an early Applegate project character.

For Dawg Eyes Only: As dawgs, we trust just about any human. But, as Dead To Me proves, humans can't trust each other. Can you blame them?
