Overall Thoughts:
As a mixed breed, I have some knowledge of the consequences of the act of reproduction. But, I have a lot to learn about the self-inflicted predicaments that humans create during the phases prior to sex. It may be easy to characterize Sex Education as the story of a teen who is embarrassed by his mother’s unusual career, and how it impacts his life at school. But it is so much more! We are taken on a journey where a very diverse, less-than-perfect group of characters maneuvers through their sexual and romantic confusions in ways both shocking and hilarious.
What Makes This Show Special:
Sex Education adds much texture, color and complexity to a teen high school comedy by exploring the characters in depth and presenting meaningful backstories to illuminate their behavior. Oh yeah, there’s also a lot of graphic talk about sexual relationships!
Beware Of:
It may seem like every character is overly obsessed with sex or the lack thereof, and certainly there is a focus on sex. Yet, you will grow attached to many of these characters and will grow more satisfied when you learn the emotions behind their stimulating conduct.
For Dawg Eyes Only: I understand that humans enjoy conducting sex even when they are not reproducing, but just watching them think about it (constantly) is quite a show in itself. They Do It In Style!
